Two young American women were questioned again on Friday and confirmed that they were raped by two on-duty police officers in Florence on the night of Wednesday to Thursday. Police interviewed the women separately and found no inconsistencies in their stories.

After the claims were filed the two women were brought to the hospital, where medics confirmed that sexual activity had taken place. However, it is yet to be determined whether they are attributable to the alleged violence of which they claim to be victim. For the investigation, biological tracces on girls’ clothing have been lifted for comparison.

According to the women, one of the acts of sexual violence was committed in the hallway of the apartment where they were staying, and the other in the elevator of the same building. Not too long afterwards, they called the emergency 113 police hotline to report the incident. Their testimonies revealed that the police officers intervened to stop a fight at a local nightclub and then accompanied them home to their flat near Via Tornabuoni.

The two alleged attackers are under investigation for rape with aggravated assualt. The men have not been questioned yet, so only the version of the two students is available. The results of biological tests on the clothes of the two 20 year olds will reveal more.
